Inaugural Blog Post

by Stephen R. Ganns on August 12th, 2009

This is the inaugural blog entry of The Independent Fiduciary.org.  We would like this to be a forum for participants to express their views on how to best serve and act in the best interest of clients, investors, pensioners, and other beneficiaries.

Our aim is to create a proactive quality control oriented point of view regarding plan sponsor investments and internal management.   Our objective is to enhance and fortify the goals of the plan sponsor or investor to match allocations and investments with long term liabilities.   In recent years, it has been fashionable to have operated with a degree of randomness while pursuing excess returns.  A shift toward a longer term investment horizon, as opposed to speculation for large portfolios, requires a strategic approach rather than a hectic participation in short term cycles.   Outsized returns have historically been unsustainable over the long haul.   Through the use of true strategy and planning, the plan sponsor will have a higher probability as well as control of their long term success.

We welcome your comments and thank you for participating.
